Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Use blanco tequila.
  2. Stir all ingredients with ice until cold and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  3. Express a grapefruit twist over the drink and use it as garnish.

Tip: Stir with plenty of cold, hard ice for 20 to 30 seconds. You want it chilled and silky, not cloudy.

About the Agavoni

Berlin bartender Bastian Heuser developed this tequila variation of the Negroni for a tequila-themed issue of Mixology magazine. Orange bitters and grapefruit zest complement the agave, Campari and sweet vermouth.

Missing something?

  • No Tequila? Use Tequila Reposado (Rounder, a little oak)
  • No Tequila? Use Mezcal (Adds smoke)
  • No Campari? Use Aperol (Lighter, sweeter and less bitter)
  • No Sweet Vermouth? Use Punt e Mes (Noticeably more bitter)

All swaps for Tequila, Campari and Sweet Vermouth
