Ingredients
- 45mlTequila
- 22.5mlLime Juice
- 15mlGrapefruit Juice
- 22.5mlSimple Syrup
- 7.5mlCampari
How to make it
- Shake all ingredients hard with ice and strain into a chilled coupe.
- Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
Tip: Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds, until the tin is frosty.
About the Siesta
Katie Stipe created it at Flatiron Lounge in New York in the mid-2000s as a tequila take on the Hemingway Daiquiri, with Campari where the maraschino would be.

- No Tequila? Use Mezcal (Adds smoke)
- No Lime Juice? Use Lime (Squeeze fresh: 1 lime gives about 25 ml)
- No Lime Juice? Use Lemon Juice (Softer, different aroma)
- No Grapefruit Juice? Use Grapefruit (Squeeze fresh: 1 grapefruit gives about 150 ml)
- No Simple Syrup? Use Sugar (1 tsp sugar is about 7.5 ml syrup; stir until dissolved)
- No Simple Syrup? Use Honey Syrup (Adds honey flavour)
- No Campari? Use Aperol (Lighter, sweeter and less bitter)
