Tequila Sunrise Slush

This makes a 1 litre batch for a slushie machine. The sugar and alcohol are balanced so it freezes properly, so stick to the amounts.
Ingredients
- Tequila200ml6¾ oz
- Orange Juice740ml24¾ oz
- Grenadine60ml2 oz
How to make it
Stir the tequila, orange juice and grenadine together, then pour into the slushie machine and run its alcoholic preset (the batch card shows which one) until the slush is ready. Serve in highball glasses with an orange slice. For the sunrise look, drizzle a little extra grenadine over the slush in the glass so it sinks through.
About the Tequila Sunrise Slush
The modern Tequila Sunrise was created at the Trident in Sausalito in the early 1970s and spread after the Rolling Stones took it on their 1972 tour. Mixed into the slush, the grenadine turns it sunset pink.

- No tequila? Use Tequila Reposado (Rounder, a little oak)
- No tequila? Use Mezcal (Adds smoke)
- No orange juice? Use Orange (Squeeze fresh: 1 orange gives about 70 ml)
- No orange juice? Use Blood Orange Juice (Berry-like and deep red)
- No grenadine? Use Raspberry Syrup (Berry instead of pomegranate)
