Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Rim a cocktail glass with salt and fill it with ice.
  2. Shake the tequila, orange liqueur, brandy, sour mix and lime cordial with crushed ice, then pour into the glass.
  3. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve whatever is left in the shaker alongside for a top-up.

Tip: Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds, until the tin is frosty.

About the Presidente Margarita

A Chili's staple since 1994 and the chain's best-selling drink. Servers shake it 25 times on the way to the table and leave the shaker with you; the dash of Mexican Presidente brandy is what makes it different from a standard margarita.

  • No Triple Sec? Use Grand Marnier (Richer and cognac-based)
  • No Triple Sec? Use Blue Curaçao (Same flavour, but turns the drink blue)
  • No Brandy? Use Cognac
  • No Brandy? Use Pisco (Unaged and more floral)
  • No Sour Mix? Use Lemon Juice (Mix equal parts juice and simple syrup)
  • No Sour Mix? Use Lime Juice (Mix equal parts juice and simple syrup)
  • No Lime Cordial? Use Lime Juice (Add half as much simple syrup to sweeten)
