  • No tequila reposado? Use Tequila (Brighter, less oak)
  • No tequila reposado? Use Tequila Añejo (More oak)
  • No mezcal? Use Tequila (Loses the smoke; a drop of Islay scotch brings some back)
  • No mezcal? Use Tequila Reposado (Loses the smoke)
  • No agave syrup? Use Honey Syrup
  • No agave syrup? Use Simple Syrup (Less sweet, so use a bit more)
  • No angostura bitters? Use Peychaud's Bitters (Lighter, with more anise)
