Mango Margarita Slush

This makes a 1 litre batch for a slushie machine. The sugar and alcohol are balanced so it freezes properly, so stick to the amounts.

How to make it

Stir the tequila, triple sec, mango nectar and lime juice together, then pour into the slushie machine and run its alcoholic preset (the batch card shows which one) until the slush is ready. Serve in salt- or chilli-salt-rimmed glasses with a lime wheel.

About the Mango Margarita Slush

Mango nectar is mango purée thinned with water and sweetened, so it brings the fruit, the body and all the sugar this slush needs; no syrup required.

  • No tequila? Use Tequila Reposado (Rounder, a little oak)
  • No tequila? Use Mezcal (Adds smoke)
  • No triple sec? Use Grand Marnier (Richer and cognac-based)
  • No triple sec? Use Blue Curaçao (Same flavour, but turns the drink blue)
  • No mango nectar? Use Mango (Blend the flesh with a little water and strain)
  • No lime juice? Use Lime (Squeeze fresh: 1 lime gives about 25 ml)
  • No lime juice? Use Lemon Juice (Softer, different aroma)
