About the Fanciulli
A Manhattan sharpened with Fernet-Branca, first published in Albert Stevens Crockett's Old Waldorf Bar Days (1931). The name is often linked to Francesco Fanciulli, the Italian-born bandleader who followed John Philip Sousa as leader of the US Marine Band in 1892.
Missing something?
- No Bourbon? Use Jim Beam Bourbon (Jim Beam is a bourbon)
- No Bourbon? Use Jack Daniels (Tennessee whiskey is made much like bourbon)
- No Sweet Vermouth? Use Punt e Mes (Noticeably more bitter)
- No Fernet-Branca? Use Jägermeister (Similar herbal profile, sweeter)
All swaps for Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth and Fernet-Branca
