Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Peel a ripe banana and blend it with the rum, coffee liqueur, banana liqueur and cream with 180g crushed ice until smooth.
  2. Pour into a large hurricane glass, or divide between two smaller glasses, and garnish with a banana slice.
  3. Makes about 500ml.

Tip: Blend in short bursts and stop as soon as it is smooth, so it stays thick.

About the Dirty Banana

A Jamaican favorite that also appears on cruise-ship menus: coffee liqueur dirties a rum-and-banana milkshake. A ripe, brown-spotted banana gives the drink more flavor than an underripe one.

Missing something?

  • No White Rum? Use Gold Rum (A little richer)
  • No White Rum? Use Cachaça (Grassier and funkier)
  • No Cream? Use Coconut Cream (Dairy-free; adds coconut)
