Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Blend all ingredients with a cup of ice until smooth.
  2. Pour into a hurricane glass and garnish with grated nutmeg or a maraschino cherry.

Tip: Blend in short bursts and stop as soon as it is smooth, so it stays thick.

About the Bushwacker

Created in 1975 at the Ship's Store and Sapphire Pub in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, originally with vodka. A rum version reached Pensacola, Florida, in 1977, and the Gulf Coast has claimed it ever since, with a Bushwacker Festival held at Pensacola Beach from 1986.

Missing something?

  • No Dark Rum? Use Aged Rum (Lighter, less molasses)
  • No Dark Rum? Use Gold Rum (Lighter, less molasses)
  • No Brown Crème de Cacao? Use White Crème de Cacao (Same flavour, clear)
  • No Coconut Cream? Use Cream (Loses the coconut flavour)
  • No Milk? Use Cream (Richer; use half cream, half water to match)

All swaps for Dark Rum, Brown Crème de Cacao and Coconut Cream
