This makes a 1 litre batch for a slushie machine. The sugar and alcohol are balanced so it freezes properly, so stick to the amounts. How the sugar and alcohol limits work

Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Stir the vodka, cranberry juice, grenadine, lime juice and water together, chill if you can, then pour into the slushie machine and run its alcoholic preset (the batch card shows which one) until the slush is ready.
  2. Serve in rocks glasses; a sugar rim dipped in grenadine first makes a dripping blood-red edge.

About the Vampire Slush

Grenadine deepens cranberry's colour to a dark blood red and adds the sugar the mix needs to freeze soft. A frozen take on the vodka-cranberry drinks that fill Halloween party menus.

Missing something?

  • No Vodka? Use Citrus Vodka (Adds a lemon note)
  • No Grenadine? Use Raspberry Syrup (Berry instead of pomegranate)
  • No Lime Juice? Use Lime (Squeeze fresh: 1 lime gives about 25 ml)
  • No Lime Juice? Use Lemon Juice (Softer, different aroma)

All swaps for Vodka, Grenadine and Lime Juice
