Sazerac

Ingredients
- Cognac50ml1⅔ oz
- AbsintheRinse
- Sugar Cube1
- Peychaud's Bitters2 dashes
How to make it
Rinse chilled glass with absinthe. Muddle sugar with bitters, add cognac and ice, stir. Strain into prepared glass.
About the Sazerac
New Orleans' official cocktail, dating to the 1850s. Can also be made with rye whiskey.
Missing something?
- No cognac? Use Brandy (Cognac is a grape brandy; any decent brandy works)
- No sugar cube? Use Sugar (1 teaspoon per cube)
- No sugar cube? Use Simple Syrup (About 7.5 ml per cube)
- No peychaud's bitters? Use Angostura Bitters (Spicier; add a drop of absinthe for the anise)
