How to make it
- Gently muddle the cucumber and mint with the syrup in a shaker.

- Garnish with a cucumber slice and a mint sprig.
Tip: Press gently when you muddle. Crushing herbs too hard releases bitter flavours.
About the Kentucky Maid
Sam Ross created it at Milk & Honey in New York around 2005, putting bourbon into the cucumber-and-mint formula of the Eastside. It started a family of "Maid" drinks, from the gin Old Maid to the Irish Maid.
Missing something?
- No Bourbon? Use Jim Beam Bourbon (Jim Beam is a bourbon)
- No Bourbon? Use Jack Daniels (Tennessee whiskey is made much like bourbon)
- No Lime Juice? Use Lime (Squeeze fresh: 1 lime gives about 25 ml)
- No Lime Juice? Use Lemon Juice (Softer, different aroma)
- No Simple Syrup? Use Rich Simple Syrup (More concentrated, so use less)
- No Simple Syrup? Use Sugar (1 tsp sugar is about 7.5 ml syrup; stir until dissolved)
All swaps for Bourbon, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup
