About the Halekulani
Associated with the House Without a Key bar at Hawaii's Halekulani hotel, this tropical cocktail uses bourbon instead of rum. Its three fruit juices and small measure of grenadine give it a lighter profile than many tiki drinks.
Missing something?
- No Bourbon? Use Jim Beam Bourbon (Jim Beam is a bourbon)
- No Bourbon? Use Jack Daniels (Tennessee whiskey is made much like bourbon)
- No Lemon Juice? Use Lemon (Squeeze fresh: 1 lemon gives about 30 ml)
- No Lemon Juice? Use Lime Juice (Sharper, different aroma)
- No Orange Juice? Use Orange (Squeeze fresh: 1 orange gives about 70 ml)
- No Orange Juice? Use Blood Orange Juice (Berry-like and deep red)
- No Demerara Syrup? Use Simple Syrup (Lighter, without the toffee notes)
- No Grenadine? Use Raspberry Syrup (Berry instead of pomegranate)
- No Angostura Bitters? Use Peychaud's Bitters (Lighter, with more anise)
All swaps for Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice, Demerara Syrup and Angostura Bitters
