Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Pour the sambuca into a shot glass.
  2. Layer the tequila on top by pouring it slowly over the back of a bar spoon.
  3. Drip the Tabasco in so it sinks through the tequila and settles as a thin red line on the sambuca.

Tip: Pour each layer slowly over the back of a bar spoon, heaviest first.

About the Flatliner

The name comes from the thin red line of hot sauce between the two clear layers. In Estonia the same shot is called Millimalikas, "jellyfish".
