History
Created in 1939 to commemorate the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada—the first royal visit to the country. The name and crown-shaped bottle cap honor this royal connection. Produced in Gimli, Manitoba, it became Canada's best-selling whisky and an American favorite.
How it’s made
Made by blending up to 50 different whiskies, each distilled from corn, rye, and barley malt in various combinations. The whiskies are aged in white oak barrels before blending. The Master Blender selects and combines whiskies to maintain Crown Royal's signature smooth profile.
