- No scotch whisky? Use Irish Whiskey (Lighter and less smoky)
- No dry vermouth? Use Bianco Vermouth (Sweeter)
- No dry vermouth? Use Lillet Blanc (Fruitier and sweeter)
- No sweet vermouth? Use Punt e Mes (Noticeably more bitter)
- No angostura bitters? Use Peychaud's Bitters (Lighter, with more anise)
