History
Clamato was launched in California in 1969 and is now made by Mott's. The same year, Walter Chell in Calgary built the Caesar on his own clam and tomato mix, and Clamato went on to become the standard way to make it.
How it’s made
Reconstituted tomato juice is blended with dried clam broth, sugar, salt, onion, celery and spices, then pasteurised and bottled.
