Ingredients
- 45mlGin
- 45mlDry Vermouth
- 2 dashesOrange Bitters
How to make it
- Stir all ingredients with ice until very cold and strain into a chilled coupe.
- Express a lemon twist over the drink and use it as garnish.
Tip: Stir with plenty of cold, hard ice for 20 to 30 seconds. You want it chilled and silky, not cloudy.
About the Fifty-Fifty Martini
Equal-parts martinis appear in recipe books from the 1910s onwards. Audrey Saunders revived the style as the "Fitty-Fitty" at Pegu Club in New York in the 2000s to bring fresh dry vermouth and orange bitters back into fashion.
